Jessie and Indie!

They say you should never meet your heroes, you'll only be disappointed. But what happens when your hero is a past-pupil of the school you go to? For our lovely Indie, that is the case. She is literally obsessed with her hero, former Chapelizod school captain and current Shelbourne WLOI star and now Ireland star, Jessie Stapleton. Jessie was the leader of both the boys and girls teams in soccer and GAA during her time in school here and in between deals with Nike and Lifestyle Sports, she recently became one of the youngest call-ups in the history of Irish senior sport when manager Vera Pauw brought her into the World Cup Qualifiers against Slovakia and Georgia, aged just 16! In November, on a remarkable evening, Jessie and Shelbourne captured the Women's LOI title and made it to the Cup Final! But for Indie, she is simply Jessie, her hero!

Thanks to Mr Tierney and Jessie's dad, Noel, we managed to make Indie's dream come through when she met Jessie, got her signed training top, and a signed jersey from the squad, including captain Katie McCabe! To make the night even more special, Ireland beat Georgia by a record 11-0!!

Thank you to Jessie for being, as she always was and is, so kind to Indie! We're always proud of the achievements of our past pupils and can't ignore it when the spotlight of the world is shone on one or two!

We wish Jessie all the best in her growing career. While she may now be running the defence instead of scoring hattricks in the Phoenix Park, we have no doubt she will become one of the household names of world football in a short while.

(She may even sign for Mullingar Celtic FC or Man Utd.........!) :-)
